Universiti Keusahawanan Koperasi Malaysia (UKKM) is a university owned by the Institut Koperasi Malaysia (IKMa) which is also an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP) has received approval for its establishment by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) on 28 March 2022. UKKM was established specific and focusing on the management of cooperatives, trade and business in line with IKMa's efforts to dignify the cooperative industry in this country. UKKM is also the first university in Malaysia to focus on the field of Cooperatives. UKKM was also created to produce professional and competent human capital in entrepreneurship.
Among the objectives of the establishment of UKKM is to produce skilled and professional personnel in the field of business management in addition to optimizing resources through the joint use of expertise between agencies under KUSKOP which is unified under the university. In addition, it is also to produce educational standards characterized by cooperative entrepreneurship in Malaysia. UKKM was also created to achieve the objective of producing a line of competent, professional and authoritative cooperative leadership and management for a long-term period. This is also expected to produce diversity and flexibility of academic programs at UKKM.
